Talking Dmexco: Mobile Audiences, Personalisation and More

Headed to Dmexco? The Cologne-based digital marketing conference is a global powerhouse that’s set to be bigger than ever this year, with more than 32,000 attendees from 100-plus countries meeting up and taking in over 200 hours of programming.

If you’re planning your schedule, listen to the playlist for our Official Aftershow, curated by our artists to get you in the right mood for this week’s hard work and play.

And to help you filter the abundance of great content, read on for the two topics that will be top of mind for Spotify, and where you’ll find us discussing them on the ground.

Mobile audiences

Smartphones now drive the highest portion of digital media time spent amongst millennials. Video streams on smartphones and tablets have grown 114% in the last year. The growth of streaming is likely to accelerate this trend: streamers are 28% more likely than non-streamers to access a mobile device. Mobile earned its trending-topic stripes long ago, but with audience penetration and engagement reaching mainstream heights across the globe, it’s more crucial than ever for marketers to crack the code.

Where we’ll be talking about it:
Panel: Reach mobile audiences effectively / Mobile Zielgruppen effektiv erreichen

Context and personalisation

The growth in streaming and mobile has changed the way people consume media—on Spotify, for example, 41 of the top 100 playlist categories are contextual moods and activities, compared with 17 genre categories. More and more, technology is making advertising smarter by pinpointing this context. The brands that understand how their audience engages contextually are poised to make highly personalised, impactful connections.

Where we’ll be talking about it:
Seminar: How context can personalise your brand / Die Individualisierung der Markenerfahrung durch Kontext
Wednesday, September 16, 12:00pm CEST, Seminarroom 7
